Deanna M. Kovar elected President John Deere Europe, Africa and Asia

The new President of John Deere’s Europe, Africa and Asia “small agriculture and turf care” is a woman. In her new role, Deanna Kovar is responsible for the European, African and Asian markets and for equipment and technology solutions for small agriculture and turf care customers globally.

Kovar, who grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin and has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business management from the University of Wisconsin as well as an MBA from Loyola University in Chicago, joined John Deere twenty-three years ago and spent most of her career in positions in channel and product management. She developed an extensive knowledge in precision technologies and a “deep understanding of customer’s requirements”, a statement from the company explains. In 2010, she became John Deere’s Intelligent Solutions Group Portfolio Manager. Later positions included Division Sales Manager, Director, Production & Precision Ag Marketing, and Director, Global Operator Stations.

As Vice President of Production and Precision Ag Systems, Deanna led a global team focused on unlocking value for the agriculture industry through equipment and technology solutions aimed to make farmers more productive, profitable, and sustainable.

“Deanna and her team will play an instrumental role in advancing our smart industrial strategy to deliver enhanced customer value in the Small Ag and Turf markets, as well as in Regions 1 & 2,” said John May, Chief Executive Officer for Deere & Company. “Her deep customer understanding, professional background in channel and product management, keen business insights, and record of consistent success make Deanna well-qualified for her new role.”
