Women in Ag Awards International gets sequel in 2023

The very first Women in Ag Awards International were held last November at EuroTier. The Awards are an initiative that aims to celebrate the outstanding women in our industry. The idea was born from the collaboration of Women in Ag Magazine and EuroTier organizer DLG.

With 60 nominations from Europe, the U.S., South America and Africa, the first edition of this award was a success. Not only were there nominations from and by women farmers, but women in research, agronomists, and other profiles from the industry also applied for the awards. The jury, composed of women active in the broad agricultural sector, awarded Diana Dykun (Ukraine) as the first winner of the Women in Ag Award International. Friederike Schierholz of Germany and Lucia Mainard of France placed2nd and 3rd, respectively.

The impressive number of nominations, the interest of the trade press and the numerous attendance of the public at the award ceremony were compelling reasons for both the DLG and Women in Ag Magazine to continue with the Awards. The next edition will take place during AgriTechnica 2023 in Hanover.

Behind the scenes, the first preparations have already been made for this new edition. And while we cannot reveal too much yet, we can announce that there will be several distinct categories instead of one general competition, so that we can award more amazing women in agriculture for their achievements and contributions to the industry.
