Murielle Joskin: “More and more women working at JOSKIN! ”

JOSKIN is a true Belgian success story, and Murielle Joskin is one of the three women at the head of the company, founded by her father in 1968.

“I am actually a physiotherapist, but grew up around my parents’ company and have always been interested in event organizing. After helping organize the celebration of 30 years of JOSKIN, I gradually became more and more involved in the company. Today, I am head of HR and Events.”

For Murielle, who has been active at the company for 22 years now, the biggest challenge yet was the pandemic and what last year’s lockdown meant for businesses: “all of our events were cancelled, we had to set up homeworking, we had to work on closed sites,… and then there was not knowing if we could continue production. It was a lot of stress and my thoughts go out to the businesses who had to stop their activities completely.”

Murielle does not believe in a distinction between men and women on the work floor. In fact, there are more and more women working at JOSKIN: “motivation, passion and perseverance are what’s really important in a job and those are the qualities that truly matter at the JOSKIN Group.”

For the women considering a career in agriculture or in a more technical job, Murielle has this piece of advice: “choose your studies according to what you love, and not for the job opportunities. We can only be good at what we do if we love what we do. And if agriculture is your passion: go for it! It’s a sector that will never go away.”
